How SmartLipo™ Works

SmartLipo™ works by applying laser energy as well as suction to fat deposits. This heats the fat, melting it and making it easier to remove. Fat is more sensitive to heat than other tissues, so the fat can be removed with less tissue damage.

The heat of the laser also stimulates the skin to produce collagen. Collagen gives the skin tone and elasticity (the ability to snap back). With collagen production after SmartLipo™, the skin is more likely to contract, giving a smooth contour. It is a similar effect to what can be seen with fractional laser skin resurfacing.
