What Do I Need to Do Before Restylane® Treatments?

We recommend that patients stop taking any blood-thinning medications or supplements such as ibuprofen, aspirin and even Vitamin D. This is done to reduce the chances of significant bruising at the injection sites.

What Should I Expect on the Day of Restylane® Treatments?

Restylane® is injected into the targeted areas, most often the nasolabial folds, marionette lines and fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth. Once injected, the area is massaged to evenly distribute the gel containing hyaluronic acid. The HA attracts moisture and nutrients to the injection site which in turn fills in the folds and wrinkles by adding volume to the area.

How Long Does It Take to Perform Restylane® Treatments?

The actual treatment time for Restylane® treatments takes up to 30 minutes depending on the size of the areas to be treated.

What to Expect After Restylane® Treatments?

There is no recovery with Restylane® treatments in terms of healing time. People typically return to their normal activities immediately following their treatments. There may be some slight redness or swelling at the injection sites, but that usually resolves itself within several hours or a day.

When Will I See the Results?

The results from Restylane® injections begin to appear within a few days and progress the next few weeks. The hyaluronic acid attracts the moisture and nutrients to the treatment area resulting in subtle improvement of the skin.
