Mini Face Lift in Charleston, SC
Improve chin definition and correct cosmetic issues affecting the lower face through the widely popular facial improvement procedure, the mini face lift! Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Brian G. Widenhouse offers mini facelifts for men and women who live in Charleston, Daniel Island, Mount Pleasant, Summerville and the surrounding communities in South Carolina.
What Is A Mini Face Lift?
The mini facelift isn’t as intensive as a full facelift, as it targets the lower face rather than the entire facial area. The mini facelift requires fewer incisions, which are easily concealed. Many patients choose to combine the mini facelift with additional procedures such as the neck lift, to create wider spread definition.
The mini face lift tightens and/or removes excess skin to erase drooping, sagging, and wrinkled skin surrounding the chin and neck which produce unattractive jowls and ages the face.
How Much Does A Mini Face Lift Cost in Charleston?
A mini facelift will vary in cost depending on the specific needs of each patient. You’ll be informed of the cost of your procedure during your consultation. Payment forms accepted include cash, check, and credit cards. We offer financing options, which can aid patients in paying for their mini face lift.
What To Expect After A Mini Face Lift?
Some patients may feel comfortable resuming normal daily activities in one week, while others require more time to heal before they are comfortable doing so. Sutures are removed a week after the mini face lift.
You may experience bruising, swelling, discomfort, and sensitivity in the weeks following a mini face lift. Do not participate in strenuous activity until you are cleared by Dr. Widenhouse.
Will I Have Scars After Getting A Mini Face Lift?
Scars do result from a mini facelift but are positioned behind the ears, so they are well hidden and do not detract from facial features.
When Will I See The Results?
It will take time for post-surgical swelling to ease, so the results of your mini facelift are not instantl
y seen. Within six months to a year, your swelling will be gone and your skin adjusted to its new position, allowing you to view the enhanced contours produced by surgery.
What Are Possible Complications Of A Mini Face Lift?
A mini facelift carries a risk of complications such as:
- Infection
- Bleeding
- Blood clots
- Bruising
- Scarring
- Swelling

Read Our ReviewsHow Long Will The Results Of A Mini Face Lift Last?
Mini face lift results last five to 10 years. Maintaining good health and taking care of your skin will work to improve the longevity of the procedure’s results.
Benefits of A Mini Face Lift
A major benefit of the mini facelift is that it is less invasive than a traditional facelift and requires fewer incisions to complete. Due to these factors, recovery isn’t as intensive, and scarring is minimized, if not fairly hidden.
Who Is The Ideal Candidate A Mini Face Lift?
Candidates for the mini facelift are younger adults in overall good health. They are troubled by the appearance of the lower face and wish to correct undesirable features, yet age negates the need for a traditional facelift. Patients who have already undergone a traditional facelift but require extra tightening of lower facial tissues and skin are ideal mini facelift candidates.

LEARN MOREWhat Do I Need To Do Before A Mini Face Lift?
Scheduling a consultation with Dr. Widenhouse is the first step toward a mini face lift. After examining the face and reviewing your medical history, he will give you his opinion as to whether your facial concerns can be addressed through a mini facelift, or if a different procedure would be most appropriate.
You’ll need to quit smoking one month before surgery. Some medications and supplements may need to be stopped before the mini facelift, as they can disrupt the surgery or its outcome.
What Should I Expect On The Day Of My Mini Face Lift?
Mini facelifts are performed on an outpatient basis using either local IV sedation or IV sedation. Dr. Widenhouse will discuss IV sedation options with you prior to surgery. Minute incisions are placed in front of each ear and extend from the tip of the earlobe to the hairline behind the ear. Facial tissues are pulled up and out toward the ears, causing the skin to tighten and wrinkles to subside.
Once Dr. Widenhouse has positioned facial tissue and skin in an optimal position, it is sutured, and excess tissue is removed. Surgical incisions are sutured closed.
How Long Does It Take To Perform A Mini Face Lift?
The mini facelift takes approximately two hours to complete. If performed in combination with other procedures surgical time will be longer.
